Summary. Fig Studio LLC is a private studio engaged in the design and development of software applications and tools. It was founded in August 2025 in Greenwood, South Carolina, with a small studio also operating from Montevideo, Uruguay. The work of the studio explores, in a practical manner, the intersection of user-experience design and modern artificial intelligence systems.

The studio builds and ships its own products as the principal expression of its practice. A limited number of selective client engagements may be accepted, when the work is of mutual benefit and aligned with the studio’s interests.

Co-founder. Mary Carol Jennings, MD, MPH, a Johns Hopkins–trained physician and population health specialist, is co-founder of Flare and shapes the studio’s work in health. Her discipline is measurement: what is worth recording, and what a record can honestly claim.

Practice. The studio's working method consists of three phases, applied iteratively. There is no secret sauce here. Only a mastery of the basic ingredients:

• Think — the pressure-testing of an idea, in long-form dialogue, prior to the writing of any code.
• Build — the translation of a strategy into a sequence of small, gated, human-verified tasks.
• Learn — the placement of working software in the hands of real users, and the disciplined return of the resulting signal to the beginning of the loop.

Why does this site look like this? Every portfolio site now arrives with the same dark ground, the same sans-serif, the same scroll-triggered reveals. Designs that would have won awards a few years ago are now the default. When every site is special, no site is. Beautiful, and identical. This site is plain on purpose. The work is interesting. The page doesn’t need to perform.
